Freedom

Taking time out of your everyday routine to create something, especially with your hands, gives you a sense of freedom. It also takes your focus off of destructive negative thoughts and gives you a chance to think about your life in a different way.

Creativity is about problem-solving and finding a solution to an adverse situation or a limitation. It involves gathering resources from various sources and putting them to fresh use, usually leading to new associations between ideas or concepts.

Confidence

One of the best parts about expressing your creativity is that it helps to boost your confidence. This is especially true if you are a beginner and have been doubtful about your abilities.

A study in the journal Arts & Health found that people who spent 45 minutes free-arting showed a 73% increase in self-confidence. This is pretty impressive considering how short the time frame was.

Relieves Stress

Creating something new can help you reduce stress, improve your mood and boost your productivity. It also helps you build resilience, which makes you better able to cope with setbacks and challenges.

When you’re engaged in creative activity, your brain stays busy and focuses on the task at hand. This is referred to as the flow state and it triggers a flood of feel-good chemicals (endorphins, serotonin, and dopamine) that can relieve anxiety and boost your mood.
